The Cat and the Bird: Looking at the Work of Paul Klee

For our second week of camp, we looked at Paul Klee's painting of a cat, as well as some of his pieces that look like cities. The kids made their own Klee inspired city, and got to make a cat and a bird sculpture as well



 

The kids also created two dimensional work; using pastels, they drew Klee inspired cats and worked on two different collaborative pieces. One piece used sharpies to write names in large letters, and then used color bleed tissue paper for a watercolor-esque background. The other used cardboard dipped in white paint to create a city scape which was then filled in with chalk pastel
